No theme park experience is never complete with some of Universal Studios Hollywood’s most popular rides open during Halloween Horror Nights.

Here’s a list of what is open during the event:

Tips and Tricks

Halloween Horror Nights can be a stressful event, especially for those who have never attended the event. But we’re here to relieve some of that stress and give you the best tips to enjoy the event. Let’s get started, shall we?

    • Early Park Admission:
      – Guests who purchase any ticket type online through the official Universal Studios Hollywood website are eligible for Early Park Admission beginning at 5:30PM. This also includes those who purchase the Frequent Fear passes.
      – Guests who are already visiting Universal Studios Hollywood during the daytime can remain in the park and pick up their wristband at the Director’s Fountain located adjacent to the Guest Relations Office at the entrance of the Theme Park (wristband distribution begins at 1:30PM on Upper Lot, and 5:00PM at Lower Lot). This is a great way to get ahead of the regular Early Park Admission guests!
      – Guests who purchased the After 2:00PM Day/Night Combo tickets will pick up their wristband at the turnstiles.
    • Best Touring Plans in Order
      – The Lower Lot Haunted Houses (The Weeknd: After Hours Nightmare, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, and Universal Monsters: Legends Collide). We do anticipate The Weeknd and Killer Klowns from Outer Space being one of the more popular haunted houses, so we recommend starting there first. Lower Lot typically opens first.
      – H Lot Haunted Houses (Scarecrow: The Reaping and Halloween). We recommend you entering through the back pathway by The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (adjacent to Studio Tour) to get ahead of the main archway opening around 6:45PM)
      – Terror Tram: Hollywood Harry’s Halloween. Keep in mind the Terror Tram closes earlier than the rest of the event, but its wait times is pretty minimal.
      – Upper Lot Haunted Houses (La Llorona: The Weeping Woman, Universal Horror Hotel, and The Horrors of Blumhouse)
      – Jabbawockeez. You can catch the show at any point in the night you feel like, seating begins 15 minutes prior to showtimes.
    • Early Closures:
      – Terror Tram will close the entrance promptly at 11:15PM on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sunday, and 11:45PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Do it early!
      – Escalator to Lower Lot and walkway to Halloween/Scarecrow The Reaping at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will close at 1:45AM.
    • Food and Drinks:
      – Lines for the restaurants do get very long from usually 8pm-11pm, therefore we recommend eating before arriving, or visit Universal CityWalk. Guests who have tickets to the event do get special offers at select restaurants, so you can save a few bucks!
      – Bars are incredibly popular, and if you want to enjoy a refreshing cocktail to take a break from the scares, we recommend getting your drinks early in the night. Bars will close 30 minutes prior to the event closing.
